Night starts off with a Drag Competition where male contestants must live up to the unrealistic beauty standards of women by dressing in full-out drag. It is Mobile Bay Green Party’s goal to raise community awareness around the patriarchy. It affects everyone. It is a repressive system that enforces a gender binary that is not reflective of real people. The power structure of this system encourages sexism, homophobia, and transphobia putting people at risk of social and economic inequality for simply being who they are. We must act together to raise community awareness on the issues these folks face, and stand up to fight for all marginalized peoples!
Audience is encouraged to ‘cross-dress’. The best gender-bend will be picked from the crowd and given a free drink!
